An Assessment of Rootstocks for Sunmuscat (Vitis vinifera L.): A New Drying Variety

This trial aims to identify the most suitable rootstocks for Sunmuscat in a replant situation after concerns over potential incompatibilities between Sunmuscat scions and Ramsey rootstock. Sunmuscat scions were grafted onto seven rootsocks and also grown as own-rooted vines.

Grapevine performance was assessed over five seasons 199-2004 in terms of yield per vine, berry weight, juice composition and vigour (based on trunk girth).
