In this article:

A survey of methods available for moisture determinations in solid materials is presented with an indication of their applicability to dried grapes.

Several of the indirect methods that appear to be applicable to dried fruit are checked in their accuracy and compared with the official and standard methods, generally used by the dried fruits industry.

The experiments were aimed at estimating instrumental and technique error and to this end sampling variation was reduced to a minimum.
