In this article:

Several lipophilic and hydrophilic substances were tested for their possible use in the dressing of sultanas instead of the mineral oil used at present.

In laboratory storage tests information on their stability and on their effect on the appearance of the fruit was gained.

It appears from these tests and a pilot plant trial on a commercial packing line, that, disregarding economic aspects, it is possible to replace mineral oil as a dressing for sultanas by oils of animal or plant origin.
