In this article:
A general description of processing of dried grapes in Australia is given. An experimental pilot plant for processing and packing of dried grapes has been installed at CSIRO, Merbein, Victoria.
The plant is a smaller version of a typical commercial plant as used in Australia. High quality processed fruit was obtained in test runs.
The plant is suitable for experimental work as a relatively small quantity of fruit is needed for the run.
It is easy and possible during processing to withdraw from various machines samples of fruit to be used for analysis.
