Seasonal modelling predicts Queensland fruit fly (Qfly) populations in Sunraysia are likely to be high across the 2024/25 season, due to a high number of flies surviving over winter.
Dried vine fruit producers can now order low-cost attract-and-kill Qfly lures as part of a wider initiative to encourage area-wide management in the Greater Sunraysia region this season.
Dried Fruits Australia has purchased 10,000 MAT cups from the Toowoomba-based firm Bugs for Bugs for producers to install to help suppress Qfly this season.
