As the quantity and quality of irrigation water declines in many of the major grapegrowing areas in Australia there has been an increase in the concentration of salt in many vineyard soils.
Careful monitoring and management of irrigation water and the use of salt-tolerant rootstocks all can play a part in slowing down and even reversing this degradation.
