An understanding of the partitioning of N between the annual and perennial parts of the vine over the course of the growing season is important in order to develop an improved means for accurately predicting vine N requirements, both quantitatively and temporally.

This study quantified the fluctuations in the total amount of N in field grown grapevines and the amount of N in annual and perennial organs over 2 seasons in response to the supply pf fertiliser N. (page 1207)
