A number of seedless grape varieties have been introduced into Australia by CSIRO. Fruit from 24 of these varieties was dried and evaluated either as replacements for traditional seeded raisins, or for their potential to extend the range of dried fruit products.
Thomuscat, Sultana Moscata, Emerald Seedless, Fresno 58-93, CG1481, Russian Seedless and CSIRO selection MS23-7 produced high quality dried fruit and their potential as drying varieties would warrant further investigation.
